Black Rose Books is a radical publisher of politics, culture, and current events. In the face of COVID-19, the press successfully rolled out live-stream events and a pay-or-donate ebook shop. The goal of the mentorship session was to review their existing online marketing strategies and to set the course for their future promotions.
Challenge
The pandemic hurt physical book sales for all publishers. While Black Rose Books was agile is establishing an ebook shop and hosting ticketed online events, the signs of the long-term economic impact still needed to be addressed.
Approach
In two 4-hour sessions via Zoom, Boxcar Marketing & Black Rose Books workshopped a plan for fostering a strong community and weathering the economic downturn.
